The base game alone is beatable from beginning to end, however the difficulty isn't well balanced on 1.00 and it is very difficult.
Tester couldn't even get into the volcano lair before he game over'd. Health stations don't appear in campaign until patched.
And no tank customization without patch. Some new content was added in later patches.
