Borderlands 2 and Borderlands’s Pre-Sequel are download only and are not included on the cartridge. Only game tested is Borderlands 1 directly from the cart.

For this test, we beat the main campaign, completed all main missions and completed every single side mission. This play through was done in 2 player co-op/split screen. Additionally, a second playthrough became available after completing the game that is accessible from cart. This is essentially, new game plus, so that the player can continue to upgrade the playable characters.

No major issues were found during our playthrough. Some minor framerate dips were noticed toward the end of the game, as well as small slowdowns every now and then. Some stutters occurred as well, but nothing major. Overall, the game performed great through our entire playthrough.

There were a few bugs found. There were moments where the game would make mention that we could talk to an AI character while we were running around the overworld. This likely happened after we spoke with an AI and walked away from them. For whatever reason, this notification wouldn’t go away instantly as it should. This only happened a couple of times and didn’t affect gameplay.

On another occasion, while fighting a boss by the name of Sledge, if we died during the boss fight, we would respawn into a nearby room but we would sometimes fall through the floor. Thankfully, there was a wall next to us that we could walk through and get back to the boss. This caused a minor inconvenience.

Two software errors occurred during our playthrough as well.

Motion controls are offered on cart, though motion controls do not work in handled mode, and only work on docked mode.

Please note, this game has DLC available and it is inaccessible from the cartridge. In order to access any of the additional DLC, the patch must be downloaded.

Languages: English only. It’s possible that the game follows system language settings.

Difficulty options: None

Accessibility options: Aim Assist is offered.

No DRM found. Played docked mode co-op.
