Comments:

Offline modes:
- Story
- Towers
- Local Versus
- Tournament
- Practice
- Tutorial
- Fatality Training

Most game modes are playable offline with the notable exception being Invasions (This game’s replacement for the Krypt).

Like Mortal Kombat 11’s 1.00 build, all unlockables, XP, and currency all require an online connection to acquire. This includes 1 character, 1 stage (Playable in Story and Towers but locked in Versus), some stage variants, 5 Kameos, and all skins and other cosmetics. Shang Tsung is locked behind DLC and cannot be earned otherwise as of launch. He is playable via Story Mode however. Trophies also cannot be earned offline.

Issues encountered:

- Some minor hitches in story mode at the beginning of most cutscenes, likely due to the game loading the next fight in the background

- Some cutscenes suffer from various minor problems, including physics issues with clothes, the camera not being at the correct angle for one shot, and twice where the camera unintentionally faded to black for a second. These were fairly rare and didn’t impact any important scenes.

- Some cutscenes have earlier designs for some assets as well as slightly less complex lighting. None of them look incomplete or out of place but they are replaced with higher quality versions in the patch.

- One character at the very end of the game (Name withheld to avoid spoilers) has a slightly different design compared to the patch.

- Sometimes subtitles do not appear on screen. This is mostly noticeable during Chapter 15 but also happens rarely outside of that.

- The Screen Reader and Descriptive Audio accessibility options do not seem to function at all in the disc build
