The cartridge build does not include the regular main menu and takes you straight to Quick Play after the title screen. No other modes can be accessed without the update.

30 regular NBA teams are playable off cart in Quick Play. Local multiplayer is also playable off cart.

Because the game doesn’t allow you to access the settings menu without the update, you’ll be stuck with the default match settings and can only change a few things like Difficulty once you get into a match. Settings also do not save without the update so they will reset to default once you reboot the game.

All commentary is also missing from the cartridge build.

Some framerate dips were observed during pre-game cutscenes in Handheld mode but they are not present during actual gameplay or when viewing the cutscenes in Docked mode.

A download of about 56GB (at the time of testing) is required to access most of the game’s content.

The MyCareer and MyTeam modes require internet to play even after you download the update.
