Game is playable from start to finish off the cart, with a few caveats.
The Switch physical comes with DLC on the cart.

Played the game on the NORMAL difficulty setting on v1.0.0., tester did not play the DLC, but acquired the DLC bonus items and started the DLC quests to make sure they're accessible.

Moderate frame rate drops in the overworld map. At first it was nauseating , but after the first few hours it became more of a nuisance and not at all a major issue. The framerate drops don't really affect gameplay, as there is no combat in the overworld.

The army skirmish sections of the game have frame rate drops as well, however, it usually happens after loading or transitions, and rarely in actual army combat.

One of the biggest bosses in the game has slight frame rate drops, but the vast majority of basic combat and boss combat has a very stable frame rate.

Noticed a few instances of pop-in/flickering of backgrounds, maybe 3-4 times in the entire 40 hour play through. Again, does not affect gameplay but slightly annoying.

Loading times were overall great, no more than 5-6 seconds, and the graphics look pretty good, as it seems that there weren't too many graphical compromises made.

There were no crashes during the entire 40 hour play through, however, other players have reported infrequent crashes.

The problematic part of this port is the combat. The combat is mostly smooth but has one issue that may affect your purchasing decision based on how you choose to play the game. The main issue is that the game has input lag, which really affects certain mechanics. For example, the input lag made the dodge roll/block mechanic very ineffective, since the character would not be able to block in time, unless we pre-emptively stopped attacking or learned how to telegraph enemy patterns well in advance. Because of this we played most of the game without using dodge/block too often. On NORMAL this is only a slight inconvenience since this setting is particularly forgiving. However, if you plan to play the game on the harder difficulties, the input delay may become really problematic.

Now, if you're only interested in a Normal Difficulty play through, this is a decent port. You get to experience a great game and story, and it comes with DLC on the cart. Its not perfect, and has some annoying flaws, but definitely still enjoyable.
