The game is technically supposed to be online only however there is a mode called "Zen Mode" that does work offline without updates.
Zen Mode is basically just free roam with all progression and events disabled. There is no objective other than exploring
All sport types except for snowboarding are unlocked in Zen mode without needing to play campaign first.
with no PSN account required. The Rocket Bike doesn't seem to work without updates. It just doesn't move at all no matter what buttons you press.
All other sport types work fine and no other major issues.
