Spoiler warning below, as there will be some spoiler information
Game is fully playable from start to finish.

Observed some weird animation glitches. In a very rare occasions, you may not hit an enemy and your character may go right through the enemy instead.
Another appeared a couple of times during certain boss fights. Sometimes, if a boss would chase you, the boss would chase you backwards or even on its side instead of forward-facing.
Observed some minor stutter from time to time as well.

The only major issue encountered were three software errors over the entire playthrough. Two right after the game had saved, one while in a level. You will have to start that level all over again.

Sonics Drop-dash sometimes felt a bit unresponsive.
On one occasion, while doing a mostly underwater level, when getting to a bubble to extend breathing time, the background music suddenly disappeared but came back when reaching the end of the level. This happened twice, the second time, the background music disappeared when grabbing a bubble, but the music came back when grabbing another bubble. This seemed to happen when the drowning music was about to start but we grabbed a bubble instead, so instead of playing that drowning melody, the music would stop altogether. All other sounds were still present.

Sometimes we felt like hitting a wall that wasn’t there, but there was a wall really close by. Seemed to be an issue with hit detection being in the wrong spot.

On two rare occasions, we would die instantly as if we were being smushed in between floor and ceiling, despite not being in a position where this could happen.

Tested the Battle mode offline, and nothing changed here as far as the performance. Did not unlock everything as it is very costly.
Tested the time trials, obtained all gold times with every character and every level, and everything performs the same here too.
The message to take the switch off of airplane mode constantly pops up within the menu or after a level is completed in these two modes. It’s annoying but these modes are linked to online play.

3 people coop was tested, and the game plays about the same. When a player is off screen, they can hit the A button to return to the screen and this causes a slight stutter too. But it fixes itself rather quickly. Generally, the game handles really well on switch even with multiple people on screen.

During transitions, there may be a slight freeze while the game is trying to load. These transitions are when you are loading into a level, or maybe finished a special stage and loading back into the level, or from cutscene to cutscene.

No DRM. Played mostly handheld for single player, coop was played docked.
Digital deluxe content is not here.
Rabbit skin, Lego skins aren’t here either. This stuff seems to only be included in the digital deluxe version.

Okay, now into the spoiler stuff! Stop reading now if you don’t want to know anything further. You have been warned.

For this test, we collected all 7 chaos emeralds. Completed the main story as Sonic, although we did go back and play levels with Tails, Knuckles and Amy for this test.
During this portion of the test, there was slight stuttering from time to time.

From there, a second story is unlocked. For this, you play the entire game all over again with a special character, but harder. Again, the game performs just as good as before.
Animation glitches still occurred, and stutters were here from time to time.
The final boss structure is quite a bit different. When transitioning from its first to the second phase, as the transition happened, the character was running in place. This only happened once. As this boss is difficult, we saw this transition several times and every other time my character stopped in place as they were supposed to.
Other than these minor things, everything performed well.

Final and true ending story unlocked properly and without issues.
